What are large parts for display manufacturing equipment?

Large alumina ceramics are used as chamber parts, insulation shields, and robot hands for transporting substrates in display manufacturing equipment. Alumina ceramics are chosen for these applications due to its excellent properties such as high strength, electrical insulation, and heat and plasma resistance.

In recent 10.5 generation display panels, the glass size is over 3m and the end effector length approaches 4m. Producing a single large part to replace what was previously made from several components results in significant benefits such as improved process characteristics, accuracy, strength, reduced assembly time and cost.
